Coaster Giveaway

Apparently this week is a big giveaway week in the blogosphere, via the Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival. In anticipation of opening an etsy shop with some of my crafts (coasters, challah covers, etc), I'm giving away a set of 4 "fun and funky" coasters.

How does this work?

1. Leave a substantive comment on this blog entry. What counts as "substantive"? Tell me your favorite blog post, something 2hippos-related you'd like me to blog about, something you'd like me to explain in more detail, improvements I could make to the blog, suggestions for crafts I should make or fabric/paper I should use, etc. Word to the wise, "great post," "interesting blog," nice giveaway" do not count as "substantive."

2. Make sure to provide a valid email address through your blogger profile or left in the comments [e.g., your_name (at) email address (dot) com] so I can contact you if you win.

3. The giveaway closes Friday, October 31. I will select a winner randomly.

Other details:
*Because of shipping costs, this is restricted to U.S. entrants only.
*I will mail the coasters to you at the address you provide to me.
*One standard blog comment entry per person.
*You may earn one extra entry by linking to this post in your blog and copying that link into the comments the section.

ETA: The Giveaway has closed. Thank you for participating.

  7. Tutorials are always nice! I love to see how others go about the crafting process. Really, I just want to make sure I'm not the only one making a disaster out of my dining room on a regular basis.

  17. LOL! Well first off, your sense of humor is great!

A request, explain to me what a Challah Cover is? Suggestion, keep making those coasters! I looked at every major store in my area and was not able to find one dang set of coasters that didn't include a rooster or a vine of grapes. Drove me crazy so I have yet to get any. But your's are funky and cool and I love them.

Thanks so much for entering me and please feel free to check out my giveaway here... http://thepitterpatterboutique.blogspot.com/

  20. Leaving a substantive comment is a high order when there are more than 1,000 giveaways to enter in a few days time.

I don't see why more giveaway hosts don't keep the entry process simple when participating in such a huge event.

  21. @anonymous. you do realize you're getting something for free, right? Also, if you were invested in the blogs you're trying to win stuff on, it would be no big thing to write something of value.

  22. you could make painted pottery and give some ideas of what to paint- i am always stumped!

  25. I never thought of paper! I stamp on tiles! What a great idea to do with your fav paper! (mine right now is My Minds Eye's line with the dragonfly).

I think some you might try would be old movie posters? Maybe even some ones using the old style Valentines from the Victorian days. Those would make some awesome coasters.

Or what about a matching tray? :)

Goodness now I am thinking of yet another crafty thing to play with! I need to win so I don't spend more money on a new craft!! :)

  28. The thing about your blog is that not only does it hav a good mix between fact and opinion, but also you and your interests. There is information on how-to's and tutorials, but there's also something about your weekend included. This way, your readers don't get bored. Also, I really enjoyed the pirate post.

  34. Honestly? I think the gray background for your blog is really boring and drab. Especially when I see your bright perky coasters. I think you could use a blog redesign.

  35. Your coasters are beautiful. Will you please let me know when you open your shop? My family has never owned a nicely made challah cover (we've only owned ones we made at sunday school). Thanks!

  39. I love the coasters with Max for Where the Wild Things Are, so classic. I like the ones you are giving away too. I hope you get your Etsy store off the ground soon. I have one in the works too, and one for a friend who recycles jeans into purses and dog coats and stuff. Isn't fascinating to see everyone's ideas and talents? Thanks for a chance.

  40. I LOVE the way you give the directions for us to do it yourself, but will also be offering them for sale. That's a great way to reach all different kinds of people - the crafty kind, and people like me who are craft-impaired.

The fun and funky coasters are my very favorite, but the Winnie The Pooh ones are a very close second.
